As we have said in our General Provenza Floor Maintenance Guide, which can be found here, maintaining your floors is just as important as installing them in the first place.

This guide will get straight to the point simple and easy.

UV Acrylic/Polyurethane

Regular Maintenance

Your floors are beautiful now and you want them to stay that way. Provenza and Hardwood Flooring Depot both recommend the taking these four necessary cautions:

  1. When cleaning and removing debris from floor surface, be sure to use either a Provenza Microfiber Mop Set, vacuum cleaner, or a soft broom.
  2. Make absolute certain to use, specially made, cleaning products for Acrylic or Polyurethane finished floor, such as Bona Professional Hardwood Cleaner, which can be found here.
  3.  Avoid using any soap-based cleaners, water, vinegar, or wax on hardwood floor.

Oil Finish

Few things to know: Generally speaking, Provenza Oil finished Hardwood require the same maintenance and care as other hardwood floors.

IMPORTANT!
Be sure to keep in mind that floors installed in high traffic will require more maintenance and care then floors installed in areas of lower traffic.

Regular Maintenance

Oil finished floors are similiar to UV style finishes in terms of maintiance.

  1. When cleaning and removing debris from floor surface, be sure to use either a Provenza Microfiber Mop Set, vacuum cleaner, or a soft broom.
  2. It is most effective to use Provenza Was and Care Floor cleaner on areas that have become soiled.
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT use products containing alcohol on Provenza Oil Floors. This will damage the factory finish and void the manufacturer warranty,

Heavy Cleaning

As you probably can figure, heavy traffic areas tend to get dirty and soiled easily. It is recommended that use Provenza’s Spot Remover and Rejuvenating oil which can be found at various flooring retail stores including Hardwood Flooring Depot.

Things to Avoid when Dealing with Oil Finish Floors

  1. Do not floor wet with spills. Always clean up cooking splatted and other moisture as soon as possible.
  2. Stay away from cleaning products that are more harsh and heavy duty. This includes, but is not limited to, acetone, alcohol, paint thinner, cleach, ammonia, STP, ETC.
  3. Mineral oil, oil soap, oil-based wax is an absolute DO NOT on oil finish hardwood floors.
  4. Do not wet mop flooring as this will damage the finish.
IMPORTANT!
Using Adhesive glue or tape and leaving it on the surface of oil finished floor will damage factory finish effectively voiding the manufacturer warranty,
